Arthur Hermann Warncke (born January 27, 1880 in Hamburg ; † unknown) was a German rower .

biography

At the Olympic Games in 1900 , the first Olympic rowing competitions were held on the Seine in Paris. The Germania Ruder-Club from Hamburg sent an eight, the crew consisted of: Gustav Goßler , Oskar Goßler , Theodor Laurezzari , Edgar Katzenstein , Walther Katzenstein , Arthur Warncke, Waldemar Tietgens and Ernst Jencquel , as well as Alexander Gleichmann von Oven as helmsman. The crew reached the final, for this run Oven's helmsman was replaced by a younger and 45 pound lighter stranger. The German eighth finished the race last and thus finished fourth.

Warncke was an entrepreneur and owner of the company Stahmer, Warncke & Co.
