Arthur Zelger

Arthur Zelger (born March 31, 1914 in Innsbruck ; † 2004 ibid) was an Austrian medalist and designer .

Life

He comes from Innsbruck and was born there in 1914 . He received his industrial and artistic training in Vienna . At the local arts and crafts school (today University of Applied Arts Vienna ) he studied advertising graphics and practiced with the graphic designer Joseph Binder . In 1945 he returned to Innsbruck and died there in 2004 after a busy life.

Act

After the Second World War, Zelger used posters to advertise his state of Tyrol and gained an outstanding influence on Austrian commercial graphics. He worked for companies, regional authorities and for the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 and 1976.

  • 100 Schillings - 500 years of the Hall Mint (1977)
  • 100 Schilling - Arlberg road tunnel (1978)
