history

The field artillery regiment No. 44, renamed from 1902 to Triersches Feld-Artillerie-Regiment No. 44 , was there from 1899 to 1918 in garrison, other parts in the Maximinkaserne . In 1919, the French units moved in and called the barracks "Quartier de Grand Couronné", a small community in the Seine-Maritime department in what was then the region of Haute-Normandie in northern France . The 230th Artillery RegimentChampagne“(230 ° Régiment d'Artillerie de Campagne 230 ° RAC), was billeted there until the end of 1922. Which French units were in the barracks after that until 1928 cannot be documented at the moment. In 1930 the large indoor riding arena in the inner courtyard was demolished. The horse stables along Schöndorfer Straße were increased and converted into residential buildings and authorities moved in.
