Artiom Konovalov ( Russian Артём Коновалов / Artjom Konowalow; born September 2, 1990 in Kaliningrad , Russian SFSR ) is an Austrian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with EC Graz 99ers since 2011 and plays in the Austrian ice hockey league and the national league.

Career

Konovalov came to Austria with his parents at a young age and began playing ice hockey at the age of six at the Klagenfurt club EC KAC . In 2006 he moved to Salzburg, where he saw better opportunities for his training thanks to the International Icehockey Development Model (IIDM for short), which is under development there and pays special attention to the promotion of young players. In the 2008/09 season he made his debut in the second highest division, the National League, and completed a total of three missions in the club's farm team. Only one year later he was used for the first time in the Bundesliga: on January 17, 2010 he played an away game at HK Jesenice , in which the team lost 1-0.

Konovalov was signed in 2011 by the Graz 99ers as a substitute for Fabian Weinhandl .
