The Artschinische (also Artschibische , own name: tʃ'at arʃatːen ) is of approximately 1,000 people in the south of the Autonomous Republic of Dagestan ( Russian Federation ) spoke. It belongs to the Lesgian subgroup of the ( Northeast Caucasian ) Nacho-Dagestani language family.
The language is named after the place Artschi (b) .
Linguistic characteristics
Artschin is rich in phonemes (81) and is characterized by the phenomenon of prosodic pharyngealization .
It has 8 nominal classes and 16 cases ; it is an ergative language and has a tendency towards the word order subject-object-verb (SOV).
