Arturo Ramón Ávila
Arturo Ramón Ávila (born August 31, 1885 in San Miguel (El Salvador) , † June 19, 1951 ) was a Salvadoran politician and diplomat.
Life
Arturo Ramon Avila studied at the Universidad de El Salvador Law , where he became a doctor of law and the social sciences was awarded his doctorate. He was admitted to the bar and notary public. From 1908 to 1910 he was a judge at the Santa Tecla District and Criminal Court . In 1908 he was appointed consul general in London , where he had exequatur from May 9, 1912 to 1921 and served as chargé d'affaires . In 1912 he took part in the first international opium conference and the conference on bill of exchange and check law in The Hague . He was secretary of the Salvadoran delegation to the centenary of the Cortes of Cadiz . He was a delegate for preparation in London and for the first general assembly of the League of Nations in Geneva in 1920 . In 1922 he was State Secretary in the Foreign Ministry. From July 1922 to February 1923 he was Foreign Minister in the government of Jorge Meléndez . In 1926 he headed the Salvadoran delegation to the Congreso Panamericano in Panama City . In 1931 he was delegated to the fourth Pan-American Commercial Conference in Washington, DC and in 1933 to the seventh Pan-American Conference in Montevideo .
