Ary Abittan (born January 31, 1974 in Paris ) is a French actor and comedian .

life and career

Ary Abittan was born in Paris to a Moroccan and a Tunisian woman . His family is Jewish. At a young age, like his father, he worked as a taxi driver at times to finance his acting training. From the mid-1990s he was on stage as a comedian and had his greatest success there in 2007 with the lead role in the play Happy Hanoukah . Since 2008 Abittan has appeared regularly in front of the camera in French film and television productions, initially only in supporting roles. With his portrayal of the Jewish son-in-law in Monsieur Claude and his daughters (2014) and the sequel Monsieur Claude 2 (2019) he also became known to the German audience. With Philippe de Chauveron , the director of Monsieur Claude , he also directed the comedies Everything under control (2016) and Come in! (2017).
