Asım Akin

Asım Akin (* 1940 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish professor and author.

He attended St. Joseph High School in Istanbul and studied at Istanbul University and at the Çapa Medical Faculty . He did his doctorate at Ankara University . There he became a lecturer in 1975 and a professor in 1982. From 1976 to 1977 he worked temporarily at the University of Paris. In 1978 he founded the Scientific Department for Nuclear Medicine at Ankara University .

Akin is married and has two children.

Freemasonry

Akin is a member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Turkey and, as such, a Freemason . He was the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge from 2005 to 2007 .

Akin announced in a press release after his election as Grand Master, alluding to the AKP government , that he was not concerned that there were people in power in Turkey who were against Freemasonry in the past.
