Ashide
The Aschide ( Ch . 阿史德 - in the literature often Ashide or A-shi-de ; own name in the inscriptions of Talas and Orkhon : Turk or Pl. Türküt ) were one of the two dominant ruling clan of Köktürken . The Aschide clan members legitimized their claim to rule through the Khagan title. By marriage, they were also related to the Ashina clan . Both clans consisted of both Turkish-speaking tribes of the Tiele , Jiegasi, Tujishi and Geluolu as well as non-Turkish tribes of the Rouran , Qidan and Xi . The leaders of the Ashide initiated the armed revolt of the Turkut (679-682) against the Tang dynasty . The Turkut religion "resembled that of the earlier Huns ". The Turk's Kagan always came from the von Aschina family, the wife - the Katun - from the von Aschide family.
Transliteration of the stems A-shi-de and A-shi-na
The names of the two Kokturk ruler clans A-shi-na and A-shi-de indicate a semantic aspect of the Chinese spelling, according to which each syllable has a corresponding logographic meaning.

The semantic equivalents for A-shi-de ( 阿史德 ):
- 阿 ( A- ) = prefix for the "tribal affiliation",
- 史 ( shi- ) = "historical, old",
- 德 ( -de ) = "Blessings and happiness".
The transliterated translation from Chinese reads: "Venerable ancient tribe of blessings and happiness". In the old Turkish language this corresponds to " * er bаja kut ". Old Turkish traditions from the inscriptions of the Talas Valley provide information about the Kutluğ family clan:
- " Qutluγ (a) oγulan ïn ulatïq " ("raising a son [from the tribe] of Kutluğ"); and " Qutluγ özünčü esiz özüge " ("Kutluğ left [his tribe] without a chief") - (Talas inscription IX). Kutluğ was the dominant family name of the Ashide tribe ( Türk or Pl. Türküt ).

The semantic equivalents for A-shi-na ( 阿 史 那 ):
- 阿 ( A- ) = prefix for the "tribal affiliation",
- 史 ( shi- ) = "historical, old",
- 那 ( -na ) = "width; highest authority" and superlative .
The transliterated translation from Chinese reads: "Venerable ancient tribe of the great expanse / the highest". In the old Turkish language this corresponds to " * er bаja ēŋ (ïŋ) ".
Here, too, ancient Turkish traditions from the inscriptions of the Talas valley provide information about the family clan Ünal / Ïnal :
- " Qïl γlïγ Ïnal umduq (a) ecünčülüg " ("We wish Ïnal a great deal of suffering") - (Talas inscription VIII); and " Ïnal (a) аγuš atïsï (a) " ("grandson of the Ïnal clan.") - (Talas inscription X). Ünal / Ïnal was the dominant family name of the Ashina tribe ( Türk or Pl. Türküt ).
The names of the dominant clans "Aschina" and "Aschide" are thus translated into the old Turkish language as "Ünal" and "Kutluğ". It is therefore very likely that both family clans originally formed a common dual - endogamous system, which was widespread among the Turkish and Mongolian peoples.
