The Ash Creek is an approximately 55 km long, left-hand tributary of the La Verkin Creek in the southwest of the US state Utah . It belongs to the river system of the Colorado River , rises about 10 km west of Kanaraville on the Hurricane Cliffs and initially flows west. At Kanaraville it makes a bend to the southwest and flows in a wide valley to behind Pintura , where it bends again, namely to the south. It maintains this direction of flow until it joins La Verkin Creek near La Verkin . Not far south, both flow together into the Virgin River , a right-hand tributary of the Colorado River. The erosion base for Ash Creek is therefore the Gulf of California , a tributary of the Pacific Ocean.
In the shallow valley of Ash Creek, Interstate Highway 15 between Las Vegas and Salt Lake City is a major traffic axis of the state of Utah. Another place on Ash Creek is Toquerville .
