The Ash Point is a headland on the east coast of Greenwich Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It flanks the entrance to Discovery Bay to the southeast . At its southeast end is Bascopé Point .
Participants in the British Discovery Investigations from 1934 to 1935 named the cape descriptively after its ash-colored rock.
