The Bascopé Point (English; Spanish Punta Bascopé ) is a headland on the east coast of Greenwich Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is the extension of Ash Point and marks the northern boundary of Rojas Cove at the entrance from English Strait to Discovery Bay .
Scientists of the 1st Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946–1947) named them after Juan Bascopé Guzmán, meteorologist on this research trip . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 2004.
