Asha Maria Miró Vega (* 1967 in Shaha , India ) is a Catalan writer and television presenter of Indian descent.

biography

She spent her early childhood in orphanages in Mumbai . In 1974, she was supported by a Catalan family adopted and since then has lived in Barcelona . After studying in the Catalan metropolis, she taught music in elementary schools from 1989 to 2001. She worked in various volunteer projects in India , Rwanda and Mexico and is committed to intercultural understanding and as an expert on adoptions. She also moderates children's programs on Spanish television and provided the template for the Asha cartoon series planned by Casa Asia .

She described the adoption and her first two trips to India in two books, which were also made into a television documentary. Her experiences also inspired Miró to publish children's books. After becoming bestsellers in Spain, they have all been translated from Catalan into many other languages.
