Ashland (formerly also San Leandro South ) is a settlement area ( census-designated place ) in southeastern San Leandro in Alameda County in the US state of California , United States , with 21,925 inhabitants (as of 2010).
The geographical coordinates are: 37.69 ° north, 122.12 ° west. The urban area has a size of 4.8 km². It is just under seven kilometers to the east bank of the southern San Francisco Bay .
