Ashraf Dehghani

Ashraf Dehghani ( Persian اشرف دهقانی Ashraf Dehghani , * 1948 in Tabriz , Iran ) is by far the most famous communist in Iran and a member of the People's Fedajin Guerrilla of Iran (IPFG).

Life

In 1971 Dehghani founded the People's Fedajin Guerrilla Organization of Iran (OFPG) together with her brother Behrouz Dehghani and other people . A short time later she was arrested and tortured by the Iranian secret service SAVAK . Two years later she managed to escape. She then wrote her book Torture and Resistance in Iran . In 1979 she left the OFPG and founded the People's Fedajin Guerrilla Iran (IFPG). She accused the OFPG of having renounced the armed struggle.

Until her flight from Iran in the early 1980s she was an agitator among workers and peasants, and later in Kurdistan during the revolution in Tehran and Tabriz .

Today Dehghani lives in exile as an opposition leader in an unknown location.
