Ashton Productions

The Ashton Productions, Inc. was an American film production company .

The buyer of the production company led by Walter Mirisch was United Artists . Directed by Anthony Mann , The Man from the West (1958), a western in CinemaScope that was tailored to the main actor Gary Cooper, was first created. This was followed by Billy Wilder's comedy Some Like It Hot (1959) with Marilyn Monroe , Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in the leading roles. The film, shot in black and white, was a huge box office hit and was nominated for six Academy Awards.

Both films came to the German cinemas in 1959.
