Jörg Nowotny (born December 27, 1968 in Halle an der Saale ) is a former German football player.
Career
Jörg Nowotny played for BSG WBK 67 Halle-Neustadt (today: FSV 67 Halle) until 1987, then he moved to Halleschen FC Chemie . Here he made the leap into the Oberliga team, with which he qualified for the 2nd Bundesliga after the reunification of Germany in the 1990/91 season . In the summer of 1993 Nowotny moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the Bundesliga . Under coach Dragoslav Stepanović he was used in only four games; However , he could not prevail against the competition in the storm, Paulo Sergio , Andreas Thom , Ulf Kirsten and René Rydlewicz . After only one year in Leverkusen, he moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken and played again in the 2. Bundesliga. In Saarland, he was the number three striker behind Joe-Max Moore and Mikulas Radvanyi . In the 1994/95 season he played 20 games and scored three goals. Since Saarbrücken did not receive a license, the club had to relegate to the regional league. In the summer of 1996 Nowotny moved to KFC Uerdingen , with whom he played in the 2nd Bundesliga for two more years. He then moved to FC Carl Zeiss Jena , where he ended his career in summer 2004.
