Joe-Max Moore (born February 23, 1971 in Tulsa , Oklahoma ) is a retired American football player in the position of a striker . His last club was New England Revolution in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top division in North American football.
Club career
Moore played soccer at UCLA from 1990 to 1993 .
In 1994 he moved to Germany in the 2nd division. First he was with 1. FC Saarbrücken for a year , where he scored 13 goals in 30 games. He then stormed 27 times for 1. FC Nürnberg in the 1995/96 season . Here he got 8 hits.
In the summer of 1996 Moore went back to the US to join the New England Revolution in the MLS . In four seasons he met there in 75 games 35 times. In November and December 1997 he played for a month with Alexi Lalas on loan at CS Emelec in Ecuador. In 1999 he moved to the Premier League for Everton FC . In 2003 he returned to the New England Revolution after failing to prevail with 10 goals in 37 games in England.
On January 27, 2005, Joe-Max Moore announced the end of his career. A year later he was inducted into the Oklahoma Soccer Hall of Fame .
National team career
Moore made his national team debut on September 3, 1992 against Canada . On January 30, 1993, he scored his first goal against Denmark . In 1994 , 1998 and 2002 he took part in the soccer World Cup, in 1992 he was part of the US Olympic team.
Moore has scored 24 goals in 100 international games, only surpassed by Eric Wynalda , Landon Donovan and Brian McBride .
