Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization
The Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization ( APSCO ) is an international space organization based in Beijing .
The signatory states currently include: Bangladesh , the People's Republic of China , Indonesia , Iran , Mongolia , Pakistan , Peru , Thailand and Turkey
The agreement to establish the APSCO was signed in Beijing in 2005.
Representatives from Argentina , Malaysia , the Philippines , Russia and Sri Lanka also attended the foundation ceremony.
The goals of the APSCO are:
- Promoting and strengthening joint space programs among their member states by creating a basis for cooperation in the peaceful use of space research and technology;
- Effective promotion of the Member States in the areas of research and development of space technology, applications and training through the elaboration and implementation of common development standards
- Promote cooperation, joint development and sharing of achievements between Member States in space technology and its applications and space exploration by unlocking the potential of the region.
- To improve cooperation between the relevant companies and institutions of the Member States and to promote the industrialization of space technology and its applications.
- Contribution to the peaceful uses of space in international cooperation in the field of space technology and its applications.
