Asian Improv Records

Asian Improv Records is an American modern creative music label .

Asian Improv Records was founded in 1987 by Francis Wong and Jon Jang and is affiliated with the Asian American Jazz Movement in the San Francisco Bay Area . The independent label's first release was Jang's album The Ballad or the Bullet . Since then, recordings a. a. by Tatsu Aoki , Glenn Horiuchi , Vijay Iyer , Mark Izu , Miya Masaoka , Hafez Modirzadeh , Jeff Song , Jason Kao Hwang and the label founders, but also by Fred Anderson ,Mwata Bowden or Matt Turner .
