Béla Sanders

Béla Sanders (actually Hans Schubert ; born January 11, 1905 in Elberfeld , today Wuppertal ; † February 2, 1980 in Braunschweig ) was a German orchestra conductor .

Live and act

Hans Schubert completed a music degree at the Frankfurt Conservatory . After the Second World War he took on the stage name Béla Sanders and founded the orchestra Béla Sanders and his Tango Orchestra , with which he made several records for Teldec from 1953 to 1959 . The orchestra soon became one of the most famous dance orchestras in Germany.

At the beginning of the 1960s he moved to Philips with his ensemble, now known as the Béla Sanders orchestra . In 1963 his orchestra was selected by the General Association of German Dance Teachers to produce the first dance record of the year .

In addition to the musical support of balls and dance competitions, the Béla Sanders orchestra accompanied many German pop singers both on stage and in the studio, including Vico Torriani , Wilhelm Strienz , Fred Weyrich , Renate Holm and Lilian Harvey .

Béla Sanders was buried in the main cemetery in Braunschweig (Section 13).
