Asios (son of Hyrtakos)

Asios ( Greek  Ἄσιος ), son of Hyrtakos and Arisbe , is king of Arisbe , a city in the Troad , in Greek mythology . His territory included Percote, Praktion (banks of the Praktios River), Sestos, Abydos and Arisbe on the Selleis River. He had two sons, Adamas and Phainops.

Asios strengthened the Trojans with his troops in the tenth year of the Trojan War . When Hector and Polydamas asked their comrades in the war to leave the chariots and storm the ship's camp on foot, Asios did not follow them. Instead, he stormed on the chariot against the walls of the Achaeans and was killed by Idomeneus .
