Astrid of Friesen

Astrid von Friesen (* 1953 in Witten ) is a German journalist , pedagogue and book author.

Life

Von Friesen comes from the Saxon noble families von Carlowitz , von Schönberg and Senfft von Pilsach . She grew up as a refugee child in the old federal states, where her parents had fled after the expropriation , persecution, displacement and the eviction of the entire family, which was never lifted in the GDR . After graduating from high school, she studied pedagogy as well as psychology, sociology and German studies in Hamburg from 1972. She completed her studies with a diploma in education and with the first and second state exams as a teacher. In 1988 she married the art critic Gottfried Sello .

The naturopath in the field of Gestalt and trauma therapy, who has been practicing in Dresden and Freiberg since 1997, teaches as part of the Studium Generale of the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg .

In her works she deals with art, psychology and education as well as the psychological consequences of displacement. In her book it's always the other's fault! The aftermath of feminism: Frustrated women and silent men (2006) she describes her view of the psychological consequences of feminism .
