Mustard from Pilsach
Senfft von Pilsach is the name of a noble family from Upper Palatinate that settled in Thuringia , Saxony and later in Prussia in the 17th century .
history
In 1293, a Konrad Senfft was recorded as Bavarian governor at Troßberg Castle in the Upper Palatinate. His family sat from around 1322 at the neighboring Pilsach Castle , where Eberhard Sepht seals on January 21, 1327. On April 24, 1372, a Friedrich der Seft was first mentioned in a document "von Pilsach". The family line begins with Friedrich Senft on Pilsach, which he inherited from his brother Eberhard in 1447. The family stayed in the "lower noble seat, the moated castle" Pilsach Castle until 1688 . In 1629 the mustard emigrated to Prussia via Electoral Saxony and sold Pilsach in 1688.
In 1693 Adam Ernst Senfft von Pilsach acquired the Löbnitz manor near Groitzsch from the Duke of Saxony-Zeitz . This remained in the family's possession until the 18th century.
In 1764 the electoral Saxon district chief of the Thuringian district and supervisor of the Saale rafting company Adam Friedrich Senfft von Pilsach acquired the Zscheiplitz manor and in 1774 the patronage of the church there. The estate remained in the family's possession until 1798. After that, the family had seats u. a. in Boblas (1780–1945), Rogätz , Grimma and Reinhardtsgrimma (1908–1945). Ernst Senfft von Pilsach settled in Gramenz , Pomerania .

The family coat of arms shows half a right-facing, red-crowned and armored black lion whose head is pierced at an angle by a red sword. On the (not yet until the 15th century) crowned helmet with black and gold covers, the lion with the sword growing.
