Arnold Senfft from Pilsach

Arnold Freiherr Senfft von Pilsach (born March 2, 1859 in Gramenz , † February 17, 1919 in Danzig ) was a German politician, governor of West Prussia and Prussian district administrator .

He came from the first noble family Senfft von Pilsach . His grandfather was the chief president of the Prussian province of Pomerania Ernst Senfft von Pilsach (* May 24, 1795 † November 13, 1882). His parents were Ernst Senfft von Pilsach (* July 30, 1831; † January 5, 1887) and his wife Luise von Massow (* June 6, 1836).

Arnold Freiherr Senfft von Pilsach traveled to Apia , the capital of Samoa , in February 1891 to take on the office of President of the Apia Municipal Council, which was newly created at the Berlin Samoa Conference . His successor was Ernst Schmidt-Dargitz in 1894 . Senfft von Pilsach returned to the Prussian administrative service. In 1894 he became district administrator in the district of Cammin in Pomerania, and in 1896 he was a government member in the district of Liegnitz . In January 1901 he took over the office of the district administrator of the Marienburg district in West Prussia .

In 1910 Arnold Freiherr Senfft von Pilsach was elected Governor of the Province of West Prussia in Danzig . On February 17, 1919, he died of pernicious anemia in the City Hospital in Danzig .
