The Astronaut Glacier is a broad, south-westerly flowing secondary glacier of the Aviator Glacier , in the upper section of which it joins.
It was named after the name of the nearby Aeronaut Glacier by the northern group of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1962–1963).
