Atlético Petróleos do Namibe , mostly just Atlético do Namibe , is an Angolan football club from Moçâmedes (1985-2016 Namibe ).
The club welcomes its guests in the 5,000-seat Estádio Joaquim Morais stadium in Moçâmedes.
history
The association was founded in 1986 as Desportivo Sonangol do Namibe , in the port city of Namibe , which bore the Portuguese place name Moçâmedes until 1985 and has been using it again since 2016. In 2005, the club changed its name to Atlético Petróleros do Namibe and no longer has the name of its former main sponsor Sonangol in its name.

Atlético do Namibe won the Angolan Cup, the Taça de Angola , twice in 2001 and 2004.
The cup winnings entitle the club to participate in continental competitions of the CAF . Both in the CAF Confederation Cup 2005 and previously in the African Cup Winners' Cup 2002, however, the club was eliminated early.
After the club ended the 2007 season on 13th, the penultimate place of the Girobola, he rose for the first time in the second division, the Gira Angola . Since 2012, the club went back to the Girobola until it was relegated to the second division again in 2013.
