Atlantis-2 is a transatlantic fiber optic telecommunications cable connecting Argentina, Brazil, Senegal, Cape Verde, the Canary Islands and Portugal. It is the first undersea cable to connect Latin America and the African continent and the only undersea cable to directly connect Latin America and Europe.

The Atlantis 2 project is supported by a consortium of 25 international companies, including primarily Embratel, Telintar, Telefonica de Argentina, Telecom Argentina, STET-France Telecom, DTAG, Telecom Italia (also Sonatel, Cabo Verde Telecom, Telefonica, Marconi , France Telecom, Belgacom, CAT, DACOM, Korea Telecom, Polish Telecom, SingTel, Sprint, Swisscom, Telefonica Larga Distancia Puerto Rico, Telefonica Mundo, Teleglobe USA, VSNL, Worldcom). The total cost was $ 370 million, and Embratel invested $ 100 million .

The cable was ready for service in February 2000 with a capacity of 40 Gbps. Atlantis-2 is considered old and congested and unsuitable for Internet traffic. Therefore, the submarine cable is only used for the transmission of conventional telephone calls.

It is approximately 12,000 kilometers long. The landing points are:
