Attention (dt .: attention ) is an English-language pop song, the Norwegian singer Ulrikke Brandstorp . She composed it together with Christian Ingebrigtsen and Kjetil Mørland and with this title should have represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam .

Ulrikke won the Norwegian preliminary round Melodi Grand Prix 2020 with the title on February 15, 2020 with a lead of almost 6,000 phone calls. She already took part in the preliminary decision in 2017 , where she reached fourth place.

Music and lyrics

According to Kjetil Mørland, Attention came about by chance and was not composed especially for the Melodi Grand Prix. During the production, it was important to the singer that the sound sounded as honest and natural as possible, which is why the computer-generated sounds were not used during the recording. You wrote the song based on personal experience. In terms of content, it revolves around the question of why people change to please the person they are in love with.

At the Eurovision Song Contest

Norway should have appeared with this song in the first semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. However, due to the advancing COVID-19 pandemic , the competition was canceled.
