The 55th Melodi Grand Prix 2017 took place on March 11, 2017 and was the Norwegian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev . Jowst won together with singer Aleksander Walmann and their title Grab the Moment and represented Norway in Kiev.

format

The show consists of a broadcast. In 2017, the international jury will be reintroduced, which has already brought Norway two wins. 50% are made up of the votes of the international juries and the other 50% from the audience vote. The ten international juries from Armenia, Germany, Finland, Ireland, Israel, Malta, Austria, Sweden, Hungary and the United Kingdom presented their results in the first voting round, after all 10 had appeared, from points 1–7, 8, 10 and 12. The four entries that have now received the most votes from the international juries will now compete again in the second round (gold finals). The other six contributions were eliminated. After these four presented their song for the second time, only the viewers in Norway were entitled to vote for their favorite in the final voting round. The entry with the most votes, from these four, will ultimately be the winner and present Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

Attendees

Composers could submit their songs between June 9, 2016 and September 11, 2016. Both Norwegian and foreign composers were allowed to submit contributions. The ten internally selected contributions were presented on February 7, 2017.

final

The final took place on March 11, 2017 at the Oslo Spektrum in Oslo . There ten songs competed against each other. The four top-ranked countries qualified for the gold final. They are highlighted in light green here.
