The winner of the preliminary decision, Margaret Berger represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song I Feed You My Love in Malmö , Sweden, and achieved fourth place, the best result since Alexander Rybak 2009.
format
concept
As in previous years, the preliminary rounds of the Melodi Grand Prix were held in different Norwegian cities. Seven participants were presented per semi-final, of which three artists each qualified for the final in the Oslo Spektrum . In the run-up to the semifinals, 15-second preview clips with the songs of the participants were posted on nrk.no/mgp .
There were then two voting rounds in the final. In the first round, the viewers chose their four favorites for the Gullfinale (gold final) by SMS voting . In the Gullfinale , three regional juries and five different regions of Norway awarded the points to determine the winner.
