Auburg (Barbing)

Auburg is a district of the municipality of Barbing in the Regensburg district in Bavaria with 93 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2013). The Danube flows past in the northeast .

history

The Hofmark Auburg, a pond with a moat and two almost rectangular rings from the beginning of the 13th century, was destroyed by fire in 1634 and subsequently belonged to the Regensburg Bishop Pankratius.

Auburg was incorporated into the Illkofen municipality on April 1, 1949. On January 1, 1978 Illkofen was incorporated into the community of Barbing.

Buildings

  • Catholic side church of Illkofen St. Stephanus : The church is a Romanesque hall building with a retracted apse, roof turret and portal with row of niches from the 2nd half of the 12th century. Changes in the 17th century, roof turret 1898. There is a Romanesque portal on the south side.
