Audience is a British art rock band that existed from 1969 to 1972 and reunited in 2004.

history

Audience emerged in 1969 from the soul band "Lloyd Alexander Real Estate", which had released a single in 1967. Howard Werth (acoustic guitar, vocals), Keith Gemmell (saxophone) and Trevor Williams (bass, vocals) teamed up with drummer Tony Connor. In Polydor in 1969 her debut album was released Audience . In the same year they wrote the music for the film Bronco Bullfrog .

The band's following albums were released on Charisma Records . The single Indian Summer reached number 74 on the American Billboard Hot 100. Gemmell left the group after a US tour with Rod Stewart and the Faces and Cactus . The rest of the band finished the album Lunch , which was released in 1972. A little later the group broke up.

Howard Werth was in 1973 as the successor to the late singer Jim Morrison of the Doors in talks before their members decided to break up the band.

From 2004, Werth, Gemmell and Williams reappeared together as an audience. In 2005 her live album alive & kickin '& screamin' & shoutin was released .
