The Auenbach is an approximately 1.3 km long left branch of the Isar , which flows near Icking in the west-northwest of the Eglinger municipality in the Bavarian district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen . It was laid out in the mid-2010s by Uniper Kraftwerke GmbH as an ecological compensatory measure with only a roughly specified stream bed for increased discharge into the Mühltalkanal .

The Auenbach runs in the alluvial forest of the Isarauen nature reserve between Schäftlarn and Bad Tölz . It is derived from the Isar 150 m above the Ickinger weir , at which the Mühltalkanal branches off, shortly afterwards it passes the weir in the west and flows back into the Isar about 900 m below the weir. Two bridges that can carry truck loads were built.
