Homer is annoyed with his neighbor Flanders that he composes a mocking song about him. The song becomes such a success that it can be heard everywhere. Homer and his family can't take it anymore and go on vacation to a ranch. Homer and Bart get to know a couple of Indians there who ask them to destroy a beaver dam because it has flooded their village. Lisa is initially very disappointed when it comes to dealing with animals. But she gets to know the likeable Luke Stetson and falls in love with him. But she overhears him talking on the phone to a girl named Clara. Lisa thinks it is Luke's friend and when she is the girl on the way to Luke, she shows her the wrong way so that Clara cannot arrive. When Lisa wants to dance with Luke, he explains how worried he is about his sister Clara, who has not come. Lisa is horrified and brings Luke's sister out of the forest together with Bart. Thereupon Luke separates from Lisa.
