Ian Maxtone-Graham

Ian Maxtone-Graham (born July 3, 1959 in New York City , New York ) is an American screenwriter and television producer .

Life

Maxtone-Graham graduated from Brown University . After finishing school he wrote for the comedy magazine National Lampoon and from 1983 for the HBO comedy series Not Necessarily the News , a remake of the BBC show Not the Nine O'Clock News with Rowan Atkinson . In 1992 he became a gag writer for Saturday Night Live , where he wrote his first lyrics as well as sketches. He left SNL in 1995 and joined the production team for the television series The Simpsons as a consulting producer . From 1998 to 2005 he was co-producer and has since been an executive producer. He was also one of the screenwriters of the feature film The Simpsons - The Movie and wrote numerous episodes of the series; including episode 200, Rolling around in the dirt and The seemingly never-ending story . He received an Emmy Award for each screenplay . For the episode On the Run , he received the Writers Guild of America Award , for On the Family Ranch the Annie Award ; Other episodes he wrote include 24 Minutes and Homer and New York . For his work on the series, he has received seven Emmys, plus nine nominations.
