Resurrection of Christ is a Roman Catholic parish church in the Leopoldshöher district of Greste in the Lippe district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is a branch church of the parish of St. Michael in Oerlinghausen and is part of the Lippe-West pastoral network of the Bielefeld-Lippe dean's office in the Archdiocese of Paderborn .

history

After the Second World War , large residential areas were created in the villages of Asemissen , Bechterdissen and Greste . This was also associated with an increase in the Catholic population, which is why St. Michael founded a Catholic community in Oerlinghausen. The church was built in 1966/67 according to plans by Joachim-G. Hanke erected. The consecration took place in 1968 by Auxiliary Bishop Paul Nordhues .

On June 11, 1998 the parish home was inaugurated.

architecture

The church rises above an almost square floor plan with a diagonal orientation. A pent roof rises above it , which rises to the chancel. The outside corner there is slightly shifted inwards. Above the sanctuary, the roof is offset from the rest of the area. In the offset, seven rectangular openings illuminate the otherwise windowless chancel. The church is clinkered from the outside. A weekday chapel is attached to the church opposite the tower .

The tower consists of light concrete parts on a rectangular floor plan and is crowned by a cross. The sound openings in the storeys are long and rectangular.

The church can be entered via the vestibule at the rear outer corner. The walls are light, the floor dark. The ceiling rises to the chancel and is completely boarded up. The chairs stand in three blocks in a circle to the altar.

Furnishing

In the entrance area there is a light band with ornamental glazing by Hubert Spierling. The altar is made of reddish stone. A plastic tabernacle wall stands between the church and the side chapel. In 1984 an organ brochure from Sauer was added in the traditional form.

The four bells were consecrated on December 24, 1989.
