Paul Heinrich Nordhues (born February 8, 1915 in Dortmund , † June 30, 2004 in Paderborn ) was a Catholic theologian and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Paderborn .

Life

Paul Nordhues was baptized in the Liebfrauenkirche . He made in 1934 at the Bismarck-secondary school diploma and studied in Paderborn and Würzburg the subjects philosophy and Catholic theology. He received on 23 March 1941, the sacrament of Holy Orders , and then worked as a vicar in Schwalenberg , Warburg and Herford , before 1952 chancellor of the Paderborn seminary was. He received his doctorate in 1956 at the Theological Faculty of the University of Würzburg Doctor of Divinityand one year later was appointed Regens at the Huysburg seminary in what was then the GDR .

On June 5, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed him . as auxiliary bishop in Paderborn and titular bishop of Cos . The episcopal ordination received Nordhues on 24 August of the same year by Archbishop Lorenz Jaeger . Co -consecrators were Bishop Franz Hengsbach von Essen and Bishop Adolf Bolte von Fulda . At the episcopal ordination he received the crosier of the late auxiliary bishop Wilhelm Tuschen , which was created in 1958 by the sculptor Hildegard Domizlaff .

From 1969 to 1989 he was the Catholic chairman of the working group for ecumenical songs . In 1990 Nordhues retired when he reached retirement age. He died on June 30, 2004 in Paderborn.
