geography

Greste is located north of the ridge of the Teutoburg Forest in the Ravensberg hill country . The undeveloped areas predominantly consist of agricultural land.

Together with the districts of Asemissen and Bechterdissen , Greste forms a built-up settlement area.

The district also includes the Hagen settlement Greste-Dorf as well as the farming communities Dahlhausen and Evenhausen on the L 751; until the 1970s it led directly through this village.

As part of the reorganization of the community, Greste came to the community of Leopoldshöhe on January 1, 1969 through the Lemgo Act . The last mayor of the community from 1961 to 1969 was Fritz Huvendiek.
