history

As a Hagensiedlung , Bexterhagen emerged in the High Middle Ages , i.e. from about the middle of the 11th century to the middle of the 13th century. Bexterhagen was mentioned in a document in 1387.

The previously independent municipality of Bexterhagen was incorporated into the newly formed municipality of Leopoldshöhe on January 1, 1969 as part of the reorganization of the municipality.

Between 1960 and 1975, a housing estate was built opposite the former Kreuzkrug. Until then, there were only scattered individual houses on the connecting roads and scattered farmsteads.
