history

The Resurrection Church was built in 1955 and is one of the first new churches to be built in the GDR after the Second World War . It was built as a parish church on the edge of the Görden district, which was newly built in the first half of the 20th century. Building

The building is a simple gray plastered building. The building is supported by a base made of five layers of red bricks. To the west is the main entrance and a canopy supported by a wooden structure. The double-leaf, simple wooden door is segment-arched and is located in a double-tiered panel that also extends over two floors. Due to this double, double gradation, the main entrance appears on the sides as a step portal . Above the portal, a long and narrow window is incorporated in the center panel. All windows and external doors are designed with segmental arches and are colorless. So are the three windows to the right and left of the main portal. The western end of the gable roof of the nave is a triangular gable .

The north and south sides are designed relatively similar. In the south and north-west there are flat extensions similar to side aisles, which are about half the height and a third of the length of the nave and have pent roofs . In the north there is a side entrance and two windows to the north, in the south there is an entrance to the south and a window to the east. The ship has six windows on both sides. Two smaller ones above the extensions and four large ones to the east of the extensions.

As in the west, the nave has a triangular gable in the east. A wide apse joins the nave in the center . This has high windows on both sides. The roof replicates the eastern semicircle of the apse with extended north and south sides. There are two single-storey extensions on both sides of the apse, which are in line with the ship and have hipped roofs . The sacristy is located in the southern extension . The same plain white eaves cornice can be seen under all eaves of the church .

Inside there are rooms behind the west portal that are used for community work. The church hall is entered through a wooden glass door. The wooden seating in the hall is simple. In the northeast there is a pulpit made of clinker bricks and a simply designed organ. The altar in the apse is also made of bricks and is not plastered. A crucifix is hung in the ceiling above this. The wooden ceiling of the ship is undecorated. Six simple four-armed chandeliers were installed here. A west gallery can be reached via an iron grating staircase.
