The Auguet Bridge is a covered wooden bridge over the Aare between the municipalities of Muri bei Bern and Belp in the canton of Bern , Switzerland .

In the 18th and 19th centuries there were four Aare crossings in the form of ferries between Thun and Bern . Due to the increasing freight traffic at the beginning of the 19th century, the companies no longer met the requirements placed on them. Therefore the idea of building a bridge in the Hunzigenau matured. Construction began in the spring of 1835 and in the summer of 1836 the structure, then called the Hunzigen Bridge, was completed.

During the construction of the national road N6 through the Aare valley, the connection to the existing cantonal road, which connects the offices of Konolfingen and Seftigen , was created at the Hunzigen Bridge . The old wooden bridge was no longer up to such a task, which undoubtedly had to increase the traffic frequency of the Aare crossing. For this purpose, a concrete bridge was built above the old bridge. This made the wooden bridge superfluous after 136 years.

After much discussion, the old wooden bridge was moved to Auguet. In 1974 the building, now known as the Auguet Bridge , was opened to the public again as a pedestrian bridge at the new location.
