August Friedrich Brackmann

August Friedrich Brackmann (born March 8, 1753 in Wehrstedt ; † March 23, 1828 ) was a German Lutheran theologian and first general superintendent of Hildesheim .

Life

August Friedrich Brackmann was a son of the landlord Johann Friedrich Brackmann in Wehrstedt near Salzdetfurth. He studied theology and was pastor in Bad Salzdetfurth in 1775 , in Eldagsen in 1782 and pastor and general superintendent in Alfeld (Leine) in 1800 . After the transfer of the general superintendent to Hildesheim in 1806, he was general superintendent of Hildesheim. In 1818 he also became a member of the consistory in Hanover.

Brackmann received an honorary doctorate from the theological faculty of the University of Göttingen in 1816 .
