August Geiger

Johann August Geiger (born July 16, 1893 in Lindau (Lake Constance) ; † December 31, 1991 there ) was a German master carpenter.

Career

Geiger was the owner of a carpenter's workshop in Lindau (Lake Constance). From September 1945 to June 1954 he was President of the Lindau Chamber of Crafts . In the course of the reorganization of the Lindau district to Bavaria, the Chamber of Crafts was incorporated into the Chamber of Crafts for Swabia and Geiger was given the office of master craftsman.

The Lindau Chamber of Crafts awards the August Geiger Prize donated by Geiger to the journeyman with the best test result.
