August Hollweg
August Hollweg (born January 15, 1899 in Eschendorf , † April 8, 1977 in Rheine ) was a Low German writer.
life and work
Hollweg was born in Eschendorf near Rheine as the son of a weaver. In Rheine he also attended high school. In the First World War he was a soldier, in 1918 he was taken prisoner by the English. From 1924 he worked as an editor for several Münsterland newspapers and the Westphalian home calendar. He published mainly in Münsterländer Platt and participated in many anthologies.
August Hollweg died in Rheine at the age of 78 .
