August Laubenheimer

August Laubenheimer (born August 9, 1848 in Gießen ; † July 22, 1904 there ) was a German industrialist.

Life

Laubenheimer, who studied chemistry in Giessen and obtained a Dr. phil. doctorate, initially worked as an assistant and private lecturer at the chemical institute of the University of Gießen and became an associate professor in 1876. Later he was director and board member at Farbwerke Höchst . Laubenheimer won the later Nobel Prize winner Emil von Behring in 1892 for working with the company.

He died in 1904 and was buried in the old cemetery in Gießen. His son was the bacteriologist Kurt Laubenheimer .
