Life

In the mid-1920s he created his most beautiful wafer-thin works, some of which he also signed. The global economic crisis that began in America in 1929 soon made itself felt in Germany as well. High-quality engravings could only be sold below price. August Rudolf Wild could only live with great privation from his work, which he always produced with the utmost care even in these difficult times.

In 1937 some of his works were shown at the World Exhibition in Paris , and he won a “Grand Prix” for the double headed “Ares and Demeter”.
