August Tafelmacher

August Tafelmacher (born July 22, 1860 in Uelzen , † February 4, 1942 in Dessau ) was a German educator. As a professor he was director of the municipal commercial secondary school in Dessau.

Tafelmacher was the son of the merchant of the same name in Uelzen. He attended secondary school in Celle and studied mathematics and natural sciences at the University of Göttingen from 1880 to 1884 . In 1885 he successfully passed the examination for the higher teaching post and then worked as an assistant teacher at the secondary school in Quakenbrück and in Osnabrück . In 1889 he received his doctorate in Göttingen. In the same year he got a job at the school of scholars in Santiago de Chile . From there he returned in 1904 and initially went to Stadthagen as a teacher . He later received the post of director at the municipal commercial secondary school in Dessau in Anhalt. In 1920 he completed his habilitation in Dessau with the work The economic management of a processing, in particular the determination of the most favorable enrichment level by graphic means .

Tafelmacher was an honorary member of the Mathematical Faculty of the University of Santiago.
