Auguste Magdalene von Hessen-Darmstadt (born March 6, 1657 in Darmstadt ; † September 1, 1674 there ) was a German noblewoman and poet.

Life

Auguste Magdalene was a daughter of Landgrave Ludwig VI. von Hessen-Darmstadt (1630–1678) from his marriage to Maria Elisabeth (1634–1665), daughter of Duke Friedrich III. from Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf .

Like her father and sister Magdalene Sibylle , she was active as a writer. She brought the Psalms of David into German verse and wrote the volume of poetry Die Thür zur German poetry . She died at the age of 17 and is buried in the city ​​church in Darmstadt .
