Augustin Bertoletti , actually Antoine Marc Augustin Bertoletti (born August 28, 1775 in Milan , Italy , † March 6, 1846 in Vienna , Austria ) was a French général de brigade of Italian descent.

Life

During the coalition wars, Bertoletti served under Eugène de Beauharnais , the viceroy of Italy .

He was then entrusted with the leadership of a brigade under the command of Achille Fontanelli and was later transferred to Jean-Baptiste Rusca . When Rusca went missing in the Battle of the Piave on May 8, 1809, Bertoletti succeeded him. In the same year he fought in the battle of Wagram and distinguished himself with this brigade in the battle of Raab .

During the wars in Spain , Bertoletti defended Tarragona against the British army under the command of John Murray .

After the coalition wars , Napoleon sent Bertoletti to Vienna and entrusted him with political and administrative tasks. Bertoletti died there on March 6, 1846 at the age of 71.
